Great American Family Roadtrip?

So I'm finding myself in the middle of the great American Family Roadtrip on my way to North Carolina for some March Madness NCAA basketball action. I'm in the car now just passing Champaign, Il with my brother and his two teenage boys. What the hell have I gotten myself into? I brought some gear including the new Canon G1X.
