Tom Paxton with Billy Heller at CSPS

Tom Paxton, American folk singer/songwriter and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner graced us recently with his presence at the Legion Arts CSPS Hall on Saturday January 26, 2013.  To say he "performed" to a packed house would be an understatement.  He had this crowd absolutely enthralled with his beautifully poetic verse, witty commentary, and general charm.  It comes as no surprise Tom has been able to captivate audiences for over 50 years with his performance and presence!  People are drawn to him and his music like moths to the flame; a flame of subtle spot lights on him and his accompaniest Billy Heller on this set proved too powerful to pull away from.  It's no wonder musicians like Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Doc Watson, Peter, Paul and Mary, John Denver, Willie Nelson amongst tons of others have recorded his work.  Makes me wish I could have spent just one day at the Gaslight Cafe with Paxton, Dylan, Wavy Gravy and friends . . .

What his legacy sounds like!
